The Power of Language : The Captains Log

Often there are subtle communications in the way things are said and the things that specifically aren't stated.


One day the first mate on the ship got really drunk and the Captain made a note in his log

Today the first mate got really drunk

A few days later, after sobering up, the first mate found the captains note and felt betrayed.

He thought about it for a while and then wrote his own entry in the captains log.

Today the Captain was sober

I think that this is a great illustration of the power of language
