IFRS mastermind Tweedie to speak at symposium

Sir David Tweedie

Sir David Tweedie

A one-day symposium on IFRS and its effects will offer a unique chance to talk to the man who masterminded the standards revolution. Sir David Tweedie, chairman of the International Accounting Standards Board, will take questions on all aspects of the massive changes brought about by IFRS. Nick Topazio, CIMA's financial reporting specialist, will also join a panel discussion at the event.

During the course of the day, entitled IFRS 2007/8, practical issues from all corners will be debated. You will hear from the preparers and analysts, those involved in banking and finance and from the regulator’s perspective. A review of progress so far will be balanced by a forum on future direction.

The event is aimed at financial directors, financial controllers and their teams, plus analysts and investors.

This comprehensive look at IFRS is to be held at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London on 4 October. The price is £595 plus VAT, and £495 plus VAT for CIMA members. To reserve your place, call Catherine Hall on +44 (0) 20 7779 8717.
