CIMA crowns school entrepreneurs...

The winners of the yearly Management Competition, organised by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), have been announced.

Every year, entrepreneurial students are awarded by CIMA in order to develop the business leaders of the future.

A judging panel of senior finance and business professionals selected Year 12 students from the Cheltenham Ladies' College in Gloucestershire and year 13 pupils from Plymouth College in Devon as the national winners.

CIMA president Gordon Grant praised all participants from the eight teams who had reached the finals of the competition.

He said it was a "challenging" contest that incorporates both national curriculum guidelines and provides an "excellent introduction to the world of business, collaboration and entrepreneurship".

The competition was organised in cooperation with Guardian-owned Learnthings.

Winning teams in each age group bagged cash prizes, certificates and digital radios for their schools.

Last year, the winning schools were Hymers College and Guildford's Royal Grammar School.
