Yahoo delves deeper into newspaper content

Yahoo is expanding alliances with traditional media

Internet search engine Yahoo has signed a deal with McClatchy, the third largest US newspaper group, to access news and commentary.

The deal will include news from Baghdad, Cairo, Jerusalem and Beijing. The value of the deal was undisclosed.

Yahoo tied up with seven US newspaper groups in November to share online advertising, content and technology.

McClatchy newspapers include the Miami Herald, the Sacramento Bee and the Mississippi Sun Herald.

As well as offering news from McClatchy's 31 newspapers and international bureaus, correspondents will also provide exclusive commentary and analysis to Yahoo in blogs. Read more
